UV DTF Sticker Application & Care Guide

If you have purchased a UV DTF Sticker or are thinking about buying one, you may be wondering what the correct way to apply the sticker is, how to care for it once it’s applied, or even how to remove it. Well, here’s the full spiel:

UV DTF Application Instructions

1. Clean the surface.

Make sure the area is smooth, dry, and free of dust, oils, or residue.

2. Peel the backing.
Slowly peel the backing off the sticker, making sure the design remains on the clear transfer film.

3. Position your sticker.
Carefully place the sticky side onto your clean surface. Once it touches, it sticks—so align it correctly before you press down.

4. Press firmly.
Use your fingers, a squeegee, or a plastic card to rub over the entire design, applying firm pressure to ensure full adhesion and to remove air bubbles.

5. Peel the transfer film.
Slowly peel the clear film back at a sharp angle. If any part lifts with the film, lay it back down and rub again until it fully adheres.

UV DTF Care Instructions

1. Hand wash only
Avoid dishwashers. The heat and strong water pressure can damage the adhesive and shorten the life of the sticker.

2. Avoid soaking
Do not soak cups or items with UV DTF decals for long periods.

3. No abrasive scrubbing
Use a soft cloth or sponge only—harsh scrubbers can scratch or lift the design.

4. Avoid extreme heat
Do not microwave items with UV DTF stickers, and avoid leaving them in hot cars for long periods.

5. Give it 24 hours to cure
Allow the decal to fully bond before washing or heavy handling.

UV DTF Removal Instructions

1. Apply gentle heat (highly recommended)
Use a hair dryer on low to warm the decal before removal. This softens the adhesive and helps the decal peel off in larger pieces. If you attempt to remove the sticker without heat, it may crumble, chip, or break apart during the process — this is completely normal for UV DTF materials.

2.  Lift an edge
Use your fingernail or a plastic scraper to gently lift a corner without scratching the surface.

3.Peel slowly
Pull back slowly at a low angle. Reapply heat if the decal resists.

4.Remove residue
Any leftover adhesive can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol, Goo Gone, or warm soapy water.
